Offaly Crest The principal colours on the crest are green ,white and gold - the sporting colours of Offaly. The GOLD LION symbolises the Ua bhFáilí clan after whom the county is named. The LION is also found in the family crest of O'Connor clan of Offaly. The CROSS is reproduced from the Book of Durrow now in the library of Trinity College, Dublin. The FLOWER in the bottom of the crest is Bog Rosemary which is a member of the heather family.
